Card: Bring on the Christmas Cards!

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post!  I am so excited to have the opportunity to partner with the Bee Cave Public Library for today's project.  The card featured in today's post will be available starting Tuesday, December 1st as a "take-home" card kit to go.  If you are local to the Austin, TX area, be sure to stop by the Bee Cave Public Library during their curbside hours to pick up your kit and you too can be making lovely handmade cards in no time! You can check out more details in the December newsletter found here

And here is today's project...

Today's card features the lovely Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper.  It is a wonderful collection of Christmas styled paper that coordinates with the Old Olive, Real Red and Mossy Meadow cardstock.  Today's card features a base of Old Olive and a pop of Real Red on the wreath bow.  The die-cuts are part of the Word Wishes set and pair perfectly with this card's A2 size.  I have always loved the Alpine Adventure and Alpine Sports stamp and die-cut sets.  This was one of the first sets I started working with and I still love it! I was excited to pair this lovely, little sled with the latest Christmas die-cuts. Check out some close up pictures below.

Card Details
Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Cardstock: Old Olive, Whisper White, Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper, Real Red, In Good Taste Designer Series Paper
Ink: N/A
Stamps: N/A
Tools: Word Wishes die-cuts, Alpine Sports die-cuts
Accessories: Metallic Sequins, White Twine

For assembly, I would recommend starting with the card base of Old Olive and work from the inside of the card out (see below of the complete kit supplies).

Each of the cardstock pieces supplied in the kit have come prepped with tear-and-tape adhesive on the back.  Simply peel the top layer to expose the adhesive and secure each piece.

The die-cut "Merry Christmas" as well as the metallic sequin can be secured using the set of 6 glue dots provided.  The wreath has been prepped with a mini-dimensional adhesive dot to add an extra 3D layer.

Not included in the kit is a piece of white twine that I used on the sled as its pull string.  This is an added little touch for those who happen to have some extra supplies in their crafting stash.  You could also add some additional Christmas sequins if you'd like - you can never have too much "bling"!

I hope you've enjoyed today's project! Again, if you are local to the Austin, TX area, swing by the library to pick up your kit this Christmas season! Leave a comment or reach out via email if you have any questions! Happy Crafting!

Card: A Very Merry Christmas

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! The holidays are coming up fast and I was so excited to bring out the reds and greens in anticipation of the Christmas season!  I am so ready to put up the Christmas tree and decorate and since it is still just a tad bit early for me...I made Christmas cards instead :)

And here is today's project...

I absolutely love how this card turned out.  I wasn't quite sure what the final product would look like and it was kind of fun to experiment with new designs.  I have seen this "scrappy" technique used before and I love how it paired with the new Celebration Labels die-cuts.  I have been working on a Christmas card kit for our local library and I had a whole stack of Heartwarming Hugs DSP scraps that I had to put to good use! So I measured out strips in sizes ranging from 0.5" to 1.5" and secured them together.  Then I ran the scraps through the die-cut machine using the Celebration Labels die-cuts.  Viola! A pieced together look of all those beautiful DSP designs.  Check out some more pics below!

Card Details
Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Paper: Mossy Meadow cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Heartwarming Hugs DSP
Ink: Real Red, Mossy and Old Olive
Stamps: Half Full, Alpine Adventure, Ornate Thanks
Tools: Celebration Labels die-cuts
Accessories: Real Red satin ribbon, Sequins for Everything

Card: A Tuesday Surprise!

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post! I'm excited to share today's project with a special Tuesday post.  Truth be told it was a very busy weekend and there were just not enough hours in the day to get this post up.  But I have been busy, busy working through lots of Thanksgiving cards and I'm glad I get the chance to share this card.  It will be so important to make sure those cards get out this holiday season especially to those who we can't be with in person.

And here is today's project...

I have been on quite the Very Vanilla kick lately, so I used Very Vanilla as my card base to go along with the lovely Merry Merlot and Bumblebee cardstock.  I love that big buffalo check stamp as well and I always love how it gives a nice farmhouse like touch to so many cards.

Check out some more close ups below!

Paper: Very Vanilla, Neutrals 6" x 6" DSP, Bumblebee, Mossy Meadow

Card: Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post! Now that we are beyond the spooky Halloween season, I thought it was time to bring out my Fall colors and stamps and get to work! Today's post was inspired by a Thanksgiving challenge and I had so much fun putting this card together.

And here is today's project...

I think I have said before that I have been loving the punches and these little Autumn leaf and acorn punches are no exception.  These punches are part of the "Autumn Punch Pack".  They are currently on backorder; and you can see why! They coordinate beautifully with the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Circle them around the center circle and you create this beautiful autumn wreath look.  Don't forget to pop that top layer of Very Vanilla so that you can really see that beautiful wreath.

The sentiment is from the Word Wishes die-cut set.  I chose to pair the "Thanksgiving" die-cut with a "Happy" stamp from the Well Said stamp set to make sure I could fit my sentiment on the front of the card.  The colors of today's card are mostly Very Vanilla and Terracotta Tile and I love how the bright Terracotta Tile really pops against the subtle Very Vanilla.

Paper: Very Vanilla cardstock, Terracotta Tile cardstock, Gilded Autumn Designer Series Paper

Card: Clean and Simple Country Home

 Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post! I hope everyone is enjoying a restful, relaxing Sunday.  We are enjoying our cooler, October weather for sure and very excited that it seems that Fall has finally arrived here in Austin, TX.  I love the Texas heat, but boy has this cooler weather been a nice break!

Today's card was inspired by a sketch challenge.  I wanted to use a stamp set that I have to say is one of my favorites, but also one that I don't feel like I've used enough.  The set is called Country Home and its possibilities are endless.  I love using it with the Stampin' Blends to help make the stamped images really pop.

And here is today's project...

This card was so simple to put together and I love how the coloring really helps to keep the focus on those beautiful, stamped images.  I kept the colors simple as well featuring Whisper White, Crumb Cake and Old Olive for that pop of color.

Adding the metallic sequins embellishments adds some extra detail to the front of the card.  Don't forget to stamp the inside of your card to keep the detail going!

Card Details

Card: Ornate Garden for Challenges

 Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.  I was able to get into the she shed this weekend and work on a few cards focusing on a fall theme.  We are finally starting to see some signs of fall weather here in Austin and it is glorious! I started with some challenge inspiration for today's featured card.

And here is today's project...

It may be fall, but I couldn't resist adding just a touch of those beautiful daisies featured in the Ornate Garden DSP.  I think the colors help to give this card that fall feel.  The rich Old Olive against the dark Early Espresso help to make the beautiful bumblebee daisies really stand out.

I have to say that punches are my new favorite toy! They are so quick and easy to use and can really add a nice touch to any card.  The Lovely Labels punch is one of my most used punches and here it helps to give the sentiment a special stand out.  Do you have a favorite punch!?!

Welcome Back!

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome back to ATXPaperHouse! I am so glad to be back with you on this beautiful October Sunday! Due to all things COVID, I had to take a short break from my card-making, but I am so glad to be back.  The family and I have finally gotten back into a nice routine now that school has started and we are finding our new "normal".  Thankfully, with that comes more time to craft and more time to do the things that I love...sharing my craft and creativity with all of you!

So without further ado...here is today's project...

What better way to kick things off than with the Playful Pets Suite?! Is this dog not the cutest?!? I have to admit that I don't usually go for these types of sets, but they were just too cute to pass up and I have been looking for a fun set to use for kiddo birthdays, etc.  My daughter recently celebrated her 6th birthday and I put a group of these thank you cards together for her to send to all of her friends that came out to celebrate.  We celebrated with her first "car parade" (If you haven't celebrated a special occasion with a line of honking cars through your neighborhood...I recommend it!)

This suite comes complete with the Pampered Pets bundle, Playful Pets Designer Series Paper, Trim Combo Pack and Trinkets.  The Designer Series Paper coordinates with Basic Black, Cinnamon Cider, Early Espresso, Flirty Flamingo, Real Red, Soft Suede and Whisper White.  I chose to pair today's card with the bright and bold Real Red.  I ran the bottom layer through the 3D Subtle Embossing folder for an added texture to that layer.

Check out a different angle of the above card and a second version featuring the same materials below.

Card Details
Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Paper: Real Red cardstock, Playful Pets Designer Series Paper, Whisper White cardstock
Ink: Real Red
Stamps: August 2018 Paper Pumpkin
Tools: 3D Subtle Embossing folder, Rectangle Stitched die-cuts, Pets die-cuts
Accessories: Sequins for Everything

Marley's Corner!

My first post back wouldn't be complete without Marley's Corner! She lovingly added a personalized picture to the inside of each of her thank you cards.  I love that what we create together can send a smile and offer a beautiful way to appreciate our friends and family.

Card Kit: Simply Citrus

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post! I am so excited for today's post because I was finally able to break out the all new Simply Citrus All Inclusive Kit.  I wasn't sure what to think of ordering my first kit, but after trying it out...I love it! It's such a great kit for "on-the-go" card making (i.e. not alot of time, but a whole lot of need to craft).  The kit comes fully equipped with all the supplies needed to follow the simple instructions or you can do what I did and add on what you have on hand! Check out my creations below with the all new Simply Citrus All Inclusive Kit!

And here is today's (alternate) creation...

This kit is so fun and simple.  I loved putting these cards together and they make for such summer fun.  Today's card started with one of the card bases from the kit.  I added a strip of Night of Navy cardstock layered with a strip of the 2020-2022 In Colors Just Jade cardstock down the middle.  I was inspired by this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch, so used that as a jumping off point.  The side lemons were fussy cut from the provided kit cardstock and who doesn't need a little "Hello Sunshine" in their life right now!? Add the clear, glossy flowers for extra embellishment.  Again, I love that you can follow the simple instructions or really make these cards your own! Check out one more alternate creation below and a few of my finished products straight from the kit instructions! Happy "Kit" Crafting!

Card: Black and White with a Pop of Pink

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post! I have just a short and quick card to share today.  Life has been crazy in this house lately and finding time to craft was a little difficult this week.  But I found a little time and put this quick and easy card together with the help from a card challenge.

And here is today's project...

My new Stampin' Up! order is on its way and I definitely added the Butterfly Punch with the coordinating Butterfly Gala to the list.  I can't wait till they arrive, but in the mean time I pulled out this retired DSP and put it to work.  I love the simple black and white paper with the pop of Flirty Flamingo.

Start with Basic Black cardstock cut to an A2 card size.  Layer with a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock.  I did send the Flirty Flamingo through the Big Shot with the 3D Subtle Embossing Folder for an added bit of design.  Layer a piece of Basic Black and the beautiful butterfly DSP.  Put the cardstock layers together in an off-center position.  I added a little bit of color to the butterfly paper with some Flirty Flamingo and Garden Green ink.  Stamp your sentiment and crop with the Triple Banner Punch.  Add some From My Heart Faceted Gems for added flair.

Card Details
Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Paper: Basic Black cardstock, Flirty Flamingo cardstock, Botanical Butterfly DSP (retired)
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Garden Green
Stamps: Flowering Desert (retired)
