Card: By the Bay Thoughts

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post! I hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start.  After several days of yard clean-up thanks to our 2023 ice storm, I have been having dreams of beachy, summer days.  Seeing how it is still winter....I decided to create a card with some beachy flair!

And here is today's project...

Today's card is a fairly simple project, but I love how it turned out.  Sometimes less is more!

How do you make it?

Start with a piece of Night of Navy cardstock.  Layer on a piece of By the Bay Designer Series Paper.  For the middle sentiment, layer a one inch piece of DSP with a 2 inch piece of Night of Navy cardstock.  Both of those pieces are given some flair using the Banner Punch.  Adhere some linen twine.  Stamp the "Thinking of You" sentiment in Night of Navy on the large hexagon die-cut from the       die-cut set.  Then adhere the sentiment using mini-dimensionals! Check out some close-ups and different color schemes below....

Card: Rainbow Succulent

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post.  It was touch and go whether today's post would go up, but after the last week some time in the "she shed" was much needed!

On to today's project...Another Hues of Happiness beauty!

I have paired a few sets to create today's project and I love how this came out!

How do you make it?

Start with a base of Basic White cardstock.  Choose a sheet of Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper.  I decided to go with the pinks and yellows for this card, but there are so many selections with the Hues of Happiness that it was hard to choose.  Next, die-cut a piece of Basic White with the large die-cut of the Potted Succulents set and glue to the Hues of Happiness piece using a fine-tip glue pen.  Die-cut your choice of two succulents.  Stamp the large succulent flower in Tuxedo Black and color with your Stampin' Blends.  Pop your die-cuts with mini-dimensionals.  Today's sentiment is from the Lovely You stamp set and is stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink.  Add a few Glossy Dots in yellow for the finishing touch.  Check out some close-ups below and don't forget the inside!

Card: Hello Baby!

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post! I am excited to share today's project.  This was such a fun card to put together because the stamp and die-cut set is so sweet and cute.

And here is today's project...

I have been looking forward to using this set and I'm so glad that I finally put this card together.  I took inspiration from the Annual Catalog for the forest scene and had a great time stamping the forest scene on the card's inside.

How do you make it?

Start with a Crumb Cake card base and layer with a sheet of Calypso Coral and Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper.  Next, use the largest circle from the Stitched Shape die-cut set using a piece of Basic White cardstock.  The sentiment is cut using the stitched label die-cut from the Happy Forest die set and stamped in Calypso Coral ink with the sentiment "Hello Baby"  from the Happier than Happy stamp set.  You can do so much with your forest scene so let your creativity show! My forest scene started with some trees and leaves stamped in Garden Green and Old Olive.  You can use your blending brushes to give the die-cut circle a bit of a sunset look with Bumblebee ink.  Next, layer on your die-cut forest scene with trees, mushrooms, a tree stump and one cute, little owl.  Don't forget the inside of your card! Check out some close-ups below!

Card Details
Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Ink: Bumblebee, Calypso Coral, Garden Green, Old Olive, Crumb Cake

Card: Seaside Inspiration

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post! I'm so glad you've joined me for today's slimline project.  The layout for today's card was inspired by the Stampin' Pretty Sketchbook #47...you can check out that inspiration here.  I love when a project comes together.

And here is today's project...

It has been quite some time since I have created a slim line card, but this sketch just stood out to me and I thought it would be fun to use it to feature those lovely seashells.

How do you make it?

The balmy blue card base is cut to a 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" slim line card.  The card base is layered with Sahara Sand and a beach scene sheet of "By the Bay" DSP.  Before layering the DSP, add some texture to the Sahara Sand by stamping the wood grain stamp ("On the Horizon" stamp set) in Versamark Ink.  Add some birds to the beach scene in Tuxedo Black ("On the Horizon" stamp set).  Using the smallest square die-cut ("Stitched Shapes"), cut three seashells from the "By the Bay" DSP and adhere to the top using mini-dimensionals.  Stamp your favorite sentiment and use the "Happy Labels" punch to create the scalloped edges.  Finish it off with a linen twine bow.  Don't forget the inside! Check out some close-ups below.

Card Details
Size: 3 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Paper: Balmy Blue, Sahara Sand, By the Bay 6"x6" DSP, Basic White
Ink: Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Tuxedo Black, Versamark Ink
Stamps: On the Horizon, Happy Labels
Tools: Happy Labels Punch, Stitched Shape die-cuts
Accessories: Linen Twine

Card: Beautiful Butterflies

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post! As promised, this week's project is a second card inspired by Stampin' Up!'s "Saying Thanks" kit.  Last week's project featured lots of colorful stamping, but this week was all about the punches!  I dug deep into my supplies and pulled out the butterfly duet punch for this colorful card.

And here is today's project...

Instead of featuring a lovely set of hearts, I've always loved punching out these beautiful butterflies and thought they were a good substitution for this card.  Creating the rainbow look was easy with the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper.  Just pick your favorite colors, punch and glue! You could arrange the butterflies in different patterns as well - maybe try a diagonal design! Check out the 3D look of those butterflies in the picture below.  Simple trick: Glue your butterfly down in the middle and fold up the wings for that perfect "float" look!

Don't forget to use a butterfly stamp or stamp of your choice to add a little design to the inside of your card!

Card Details
Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Paper: Basic Black, Basic White, Beautifully Penned DSP, Hues of Happiness DSP
Ink: Tuxedo Black
Stamps: Butterfly Gala, "Thank You!" from previous card kit - use your favorite!
Tools: Butterfly Duet Punch, Lovely Labels Pick a Punch
Accessories: Glossy Dots Assortment, Black and White Twine

Welcome to today's post!  Today's project was inspired by the new Stampin' Up! kit "Saying Thanks".  The kit is available now and features bright and lovely colors! And here is today's project...

This card was so fun to make with those bright and beautiful colors.  I loved how these cards came out featuring the bold "Thanks" die cut from the "Amazing Thanks" die cuts...they are Amazing! Don't forget to "pop" your die-cut for that extra 3D look.  Check out some close ups and the set below.
