Card: Wine Time!

Hello and Welcome!

Wow! Who can believe it's already Thursday!? This week is flying by and having that extra weekend day for Memorial Day really threw me for a loop.  I thought it was Monday, but it was already Tuesday (i.e. I missed my Tuesday post)...and now it's already Thursday! My little is officially off for summer, so we have been trying to enjoy some outdoor time before the Texas heat takes over!  She was only three days a week for preschool this year, but I quickly realized how much I was able to get done in those few days! Now card-making is being done late into the night as I prepare for my first ever stamp class...YEAH!!!

So I thought today's card was pretty perfect as we roll into summer which hopefully means a glass of wine (or two) enjoying a gorgeous Texas sunset :)

And here is today's project...

The Half Full is a new addition to my stamping collection and I am already a huge fan.  I just think it will come in hand for so many occasions.  I finished off some wine tags for a customer a few weeks ago with this set and I love how they came out.  I love the simplicity of the set, so I'm glad I picked it up before we had to say goodbye.

The background leaves are from the new Magnolia Memory Die set which will be released staring on June 4th, 2019.  I think this goes to show the versatility of that set as well.  I always find it good to have several different leaf shapes in my stash of die-cut tools.  The wine bottle was fussy-cut after being stamped and this is a technique that I find myself using more and more.

Card Details

Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Paper: Whisper White, Fresh Fig, Old Olive, Kraft (non-SU), Vellum
Ink: Crumb Cake, Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends (light and dark)
Stamp Set: Half Full
Tools: Magnolia Memory Die, Layering Circle Die, Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder
Accessories: Linen Thread

Card: Sneak Peek 2 "Magnolia Lane Suite"

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post! My project today once again features a sneak peek into the new Stampin' Up! Magnolia Lane suite.  It is a beautiful set of products and I think it will quickly become a favorite when it becomes available on June 4th!

And here is today's card...

The paper of this card is the reverse of a previous project and it is just as beautiful as the first.  I love how the paper can do all the work, but the little butterfly accent and the mossy meadow linen thread can add just an extra touch.

Not forgetting about the envelope...the magnolia stamp was also used on the envelope flap for added design.

See some additional photos below of today's project (includes a sneak peek photo of a portion of the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set!)...

Quick tip: The magnolia stamp was stamped on the front of the card using Mossy Meadow.  I thought it needed just a little extra color.  So I took a Q-tip and lightly touched it to the ink pad (Mossy Meadow first) getting just a bit of ink on the tip.  Then I lightly touched the leafy area of the stamped image with the inked Q-tip.  Then I repeated the same steps for the flower portion using the Powder Pink ink pad.  Viola! Just a touch of color to the original stamped image (see left image above).

Card Details

Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Paper:   Crumb Cake, Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper, Whisper White
Ink: Mossy Meadow, Powder Pink
Stamp Set: Good Morning Magnolia, Make a Difference, August 2018 Paper Pumpkin (inside sentiment)
Tools: Rectangle Stitched Die Cuts, Well Said Die Cuts
Accessories: Mossy Meadow Linen Thread

This card was inspired by a previous project that you can see here.  These two cards are some of the first that have been made for my parish Card Ministry.  I am so blessed that I have been given the opportunity to give back to my parish doing something that I love.

Today's project was inspired by the following challenge:

It may be a sympathy card, but hopefully those beautiful spring magnolias fill the family's heart with happiness during a difficult time.

Card: Sneak Peek "Magnolia Lane Suite"

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to today's post!  I am so excited to share today's project because it features some of the latest goodies that will be available starting June 4, 2019 in this year's new Stampin' Up! catalog.  I already have a long "favorites list" and I know you will too once the new catalog is available.  The Designer Series Paper are all keepers and the coordination with the new stamps sets are sure to be a must have for your stamping stash!

And here is today's project...

Having to put together a sympathy card is always a difficult one.  But I hope that I can bring a little joy during a difficult time when I present a friend or loved one with a handmade card.  With the new Magnolia Lane products, creating a sympathy card is a little easier as the paper, stamps and sentiments are lovely, sophisticated and lend themselves to creating a card with a peaceful and tranquil message.

The card stock featured is from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper set and the magnolia stamp is from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set.  Both of these products will be available beginning June 4, 2019.

I featured two carryover products with the sentiment stamp (Make A Difference Stamp Set #146676) and die cut (Well Said Die Cut #148534).  Both of these products have been so useful in my craft room as they can be used for a variety of occasions.

See some additional photos below of today's project (includes a sneak peek photo of a portion of the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set!)...

The large magnolia stamp is used both on the inside sentiment as well as some additional decoration to the envelope flap.

Card Details

Size: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Paper: Crumb Cake, Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper, Whisper White

Card: Simple Stamping Card Set

Hello and Welcome!

Today I wanted to feature a #simplestamping project.  I had so much fun working with the mini pizza box as well that I decided to feature it again in today's project.  I showcased a project using the mini pizza box in a previous post that you can check out here.

The mini pizza box measures 3.5" x 3.5" when folded and it is the perfect size for holding a 3" x 3" card and matching envelope.  This card set features 5 cards and matching envelopes using three different ink colors.

And here is today's project...

These cards are so simple to make and they still make a statement.  Again, each card measures 3" x 3" and I stamped the outside of each envelope for added decoration.  A simple enamel dot finishes off the card.  I decorated the outside of the mini pizza box with a similar look, but added an additional circle die cut to pop the flower on the top of the box.

Card Details

Size: 3" x 3"
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Ink: Dapper Denim, Sweet Sugarplum, Powder Pink
Stamp Set: Sunshine Sayings
Tools: 2" circle punch
Accessories: Enamel Dots, white satin ribbon

Mini Pizza Box: Celebration!

Hello and Welcome!

A happy Thursday to everyone out there! It has been a busy week for our family as we gear up for summer and look forward to some end of school year celebrations.  My daughter's school celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week and I hope that all of the teachers out there know how much they are appreciated.  I for one am always thankful for the hard work and dedication that our school's teachers show every day.

Just as a little extra thank you, I made a quick celebration box filled with yummy chocolates and wanted to share the finished product with you today.  I purchased the mini pizza box as a part of my Stampin' Up! starter kit and I have been wondering how to use them.  Well let me tell you...a box full of chocolates seemed like the perfect opportunity!

And here is today's project...

What a way to say thank you! I love how these turned out! I used a few retiring products so be sure to head over and check out what's retiring here before the new catalog goes live in June! The paper is so fun and the metallic sequins just bring out some extra flair! In the photos below you can see the inside decoration as well as well as the decor around the whole box.  Chocolate time!

Wine Tags: Friendly Assortment

Hello and Welcome!

A happy Tuesday to all of you out there! Long time, no see...wait, no blog.  Thankfully, it is not because I haven't been creating, but because I received my first custom order and have been working hard to complete it.  I received an order for custom wine tags.  I hope that I have delivered some beautiful tags that bring a smile to someone's face...not just because they will be receiving a bottle of wine, but because the bottle will be decorated so beautifully!

I tried to create a variety of styles using different colors, inks and stamp sets.  In addition to what I would consider a "traditional" wine theme, I wanted to feature friendship as a part of the project.  Friendship is the focus of this week's challenge at The Paper Players and I thought this was the perfect project to incorporate with this challenge.  As the stamp set says, "The best wines are the ones we drink with friends".  Couldn't be more true! So grab your favorite glass and have a look...

Here is today's project...

Colorful and unique.  Just the right touch of sophistication to a bottle of wine.  I had a lot of fun putting these together and really enjoyed papercrafting beyond just the traditional card.  I think it helps with one's creativity to take a step out of your comfort zone and create something you don't usually do.  Of course, I had so much fun these just might become a regular project!

So here are some details...

Size: All tags measured 3 1/8" x 8 1/2", card stock is scored at 3 1/8"
Tag Circle: 2" circle die cut
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Mint Macaron, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Share What You Love DSP, Botanical Butterfly DSP
Ink: Tuxedo Black, Fresh Fig
Stamp Set: Half Full, A Big Thank You, Home to Roost, Daisy Delight
Tools: Well Written Die Cuts

And here are some close ups of what I think are my favorites :)

Some of today's tags were inspired by the following challenge:
